School Goverance

The California Education Code requires that each school, except charter schools, to establish and maintain a School Site Council.  A Compensatory Education Advisory Committee is required school-based committee if the school receives Title I monies from the Federal government.  Leapwood  Avenue Elementary School has both a School Site Council and Compensatory Education Advisory Committee.

The School Site Council (SSC) develops, reviews, and updates the Single Plan for Student Achievement.  And, the Compensatory Education Advisory Committee advises and makes recommendations to the School Site Council.  Both of these entities are mandated to have parent, teacher and staff participation.  More information about these entities can be accessed by clicking the tabs at left.
