Parent Center

At 8:00 a.m., the bell rings each school day and children on Leapwood’s campus are greeting their teachers and classmates while eagerly awaiting the day’s lessons.  Near the front of the school, their parents are greeting the Parent Center Representative.  In the Parent Center, there is coffee and donuts for these harried parents who rushed to get their little ones to school on time.

In this center, these parents find the support needed to enhance their children’s education.  Someone is there each morning, greeting them, encouraging them, and helping them. While there, they make copies for classrooms, homework packets, prepare arts and crafts, learn about classroom curriculum and daily homework assignments, pick up supplemental academic support, and enhance their parenting skills.

This parental refuge is essential to the learning environment at Leapwood.  We know that empowered parents have a dynamic impact on the academic success of our students.  So, we have created this hub for our parents - a place to commune, gather, and volunteer.  The Leapwood Avenue Elemenatry Parent Center is where our parents come to find out about current events that are occurring on campus and volunteer to help our school.
